Who We Are

Pratheeksha Charitable Society was formed in the year 2007 by a group of like minded inhabitants of Trithala Block and neighbourhood with the intention of serving poor.

A charitable society by birth, ‘Prateeksha’ was founded in 2007 at Kootanad, Palakkad District of Kerala, by a group of philanthropists. The lack of facilities for palliative care and rehabilitation of the differently abled persons in and around Kootanad, prompted them to establish a society, which can develop into a dedicated service provider in these usually neglected, yet the most needy sectors. The name ‘Prateeksha’ signifies Hope, and hence by its establishment, the society aims to kindle hope and honour to thousands, who happened to be bed-ridden due to different causes. Twelve years after the small step of initiation, the activities of the society had grown leaps and bounds, providing yeomen service in sectors of palliative care and rehabilitation.

The society is run by an Executive committee headed by a President, and is elected from the members of the General Body. Society happens to be politically and religiously neutral and have members cutting across the dimensions of religion and political class.
